The 15-hour Dyslexia Certificate program will prepare Dyslexia Therapists to work with students and other professionals to improve the literacy knowledge and skills of students identified as having characteristics of dyslexia.

This program may be completed online.

Learning Outcomes :

-Demonstrate knowledge of the characteristics, causes, and neurological basis of dyslexia

-Recognize the characteristics of dyslexia across K-12

-Conduct appropriate assessments to identify students with dyslexia

-Assess results to create an appropriate IEP

-Implement evidence based instructional strategies for the needs of students with dyslexia

-Develop and adapt curricula when necessary for students with dyslexia

-Advocate for students with dyslexia

-Stay current with research and best practices in dyslexia therapy

-Understand and abide by the ethical standards and legal requirements related to special education and dyslexia services.
