The Bachelor of Arts in Communication with a Theatre and Film Production Option prepares students for a variety of careers including professional theatre, educational theatre, social media influencing, or other performance-related careers.

This program embraces the technological side of performance creation, while acknowledging that training in traditional theatre provides valuable depth and substance to the work. Therefore, Arkansas Tech offers a unique hybrid program that tackles traditional theatrical skills along with digital creation. This gives its students a competitive edge in the 21st century market.

A maximum of seven hours of theatre practicum courses may be counted toward the thirty-three hour major.

Students who complete the program will be able to:

• plan and create performances using realistic (Stanislavskian) acting technique.
• compose scripts using Aristotelian principles.
• apply production techniques to plays or films.
• produce short films or live scenes as a means of visual storytelling.
• participate in department-wide films or plays.
