The pre-health profession advanced certificate is designed to provide students a guide to select "high impact" courses on their way to application in health professional schools (e.g., medical, dental, pharmacy, physician's assistant, physical therapy, occupational therapy, etc.). The goal of the advanced certificate is that students will be better prepared for entrance exams and have a greater success rate in the application process to a health professional school.
Students completing this program will be able to:
- Construct reports which analyze data using scientific models to justify their conclusions.
- Evaluate the interactions between human and biological systems, and to articulate and convey societal relevance to the general public.
- Describe characteristics and diversity of life.
- Demonstrate common lab procedures, operate lab and field equipment, perform sterile techniques, and conduct online data analyses.
- Find, analyze, and critique current scientific literature and present their evaluation in written and oral formats.
