Students who complete the program will:
- Demonstrate understanding of the content for competence in the medical assisting profession as outlined by 2022 MAERB Core Curriculum. Mastery would encompass cognitive knowledge, psychomotor skills and affective behaviors.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills by using evidence-based techniques along with research and theoretical knowledge to help determine best practice and apply that knowledge in simulated or monitored clinical practice.
- Demonstrate respect for diversity considering the unique cultural, generational, socioeconomic, and geographic characteristics of an individual and family when providing medical assistance to the patient.
- Demonstrate value for and participate in community service, to effectively apply life skills such as:
a) demonstrate active listening and develop professional communication skills such as tactfulness
b) develop interpersonal relationships through teamwork and recognize personal boundaries
5. Demonstrate appropriate care for and use of profession-specific technology.
6. Demonstrate professional characteristics and behaviors according to the AAMA Code of Ethics and the Scope of Practice as it pertains to the Arkansas State Medical Board Regulations.
